Some may have noted one of the singles from this release, Social Media (How Unu Dweet), a fiery and timely commentary on immoral influencers and their effects, released earlier this year. And elsewhere on this fine ten-track album Jah Izrehl tackles the ills of society, as well as affirming that Jah Nuh Dead, with his distinctive vocals over fine, classic reggae backings – lend an ear to Listen Up or the autobiographical Style And Patan, or for a more unusual sound, try Riff Raff. The closing Corporate Dread addresses the issue of false dreads – “reggae no need that dread” he sings after detailing just who he is blazing fire upon.
Izrehl’s commitment to authentic culture and urging a return to righteous living blazes stronger than ever on this set, and it is so good to hear.
