Your Richness Is Life

After more than sixty years of life lived in the shadows of two reggae legends, Black Pearl Livingston is stepping forward with her own voice. The sister of Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer is set to release her long-awaited debut album, Your Richness Is Life, on August 22.

Produced by Greg Quail, a longtime enthusiast of Jamaican music, the ten-track project explores themes of reality, romance, and Rastafari. The album includes eight original songs written by Black Pearl herself, along with one song each from her brothers’ iconic catalogs. She covers Bob Marley’s Natty Dread and Bunny Wailer’s Rock N Groove.

The title track and video for Your Richness Is Life is out now, offering a first glimpse into her introspective sound and message.

Born Claudette “Pearl” Livingston in 1962, Black Pearl is the daughter of Cedella Marley and Thaddeus Livingston. With her roots deeply tied to two of reggae’s most influential voices, it was only a matter of time before her own music would come to light. After decades marked by personal loss and resilience, she describes the album simply: “Better late than never.”
