Celebrating 30 years as a band, John Brown’s Body continues its return to the scene with a fresh take on a familiar tune. After a six-year hiatus, the U.S. reggae veterans are rolling out new music once again, and their latest single taps into deep roots from their own catalog.
The new track “Little Bit of Some” is a reimagined version of the instrumental “A Little Bit of Dub”, first released in 2000 on their All Time album. While longtime fans may know the original as a purely instrumental cut, the song had lyrics written back in the day, they just never made it onto a proper studio recording, and were rarely performed live.
Now, after digging through their archives, the band has brought those long-lost lyrics to light, layering them over the familiar dub groove. The result feels both nostalgic and fresh, a perfect example of John Brown’s Body honoring their past without being afraid to experiment.
“Little Bit of Some” shows that JBB hasn’t lost its edge. They’re still innovating, still playful with their sound, and still committed to high-quality reggae built from experience. The song will be released today, August 8, 2025
