B.B. SEATON

Harris “B.B.” Seaton, affectionally known as “Bibby,” was a Jamaican reggae vocalist, songwriter, and music producer. Throughout his career, he was part of several groups including The Gaylads, The Astronauts, Conscious Minds, and The Messengers. He began his solo recording journey in 1960, went on to form a duo called Winston & Bibby, and later joined various groups before restarting his solo career in 1972. Bibby achieved notable success with both original songs and covers. In 1974, he masterfully covered Eddie Kendricks’ My People…Hold On. Produced by Sid Bucknor, the song was first released in Jamaica by the Third World label on the B-side of No More Tribalism.
