BARRINGTON SPENCE
Barrington Spence, often noted for his vocal resemblance to Ken Boothe, kicked off his career in 1968 at the legendary Studio One, laying down his debut single Contemplating Mind. Not long after, he teamed up with producer Phil Pratt, delivering tunes like Sweet Wanton, Where Must I Go, and a reggae take on Paul Anka’s classic Diana. In Jamaica, Diana was released under the United Sounds label, while UK fans received it on a 7″ single from Magnet Records, paired with Solomon Grandpa. Oddly enough, the UK pressing featured only the instrumental version of Diana.
