A Phyllis Dillon – You’re Like Heaven To Me
B Phyllis Dillon – Walk Through The World With Me

Phyllis Dillon’s sweet, soulful voice became a defining sound in producer Duke Reid’s catalog. Unlike most Jamaican artists of her time, she remained dedicated to Reid, continuing to record for him even after her move to New York in 1967.

Dubbed the Queen of Jamaican Soul, Dillon recorded regularly at the Treasure Isle studio, backed by Tommy McCook & The Supersonics. Her repertoire included original compositions alongside some stunning renditions of pop and soul tunes.

This remarkable 7″ single presents reissues of two captivating love songs; You Are Like Heaven To Me, an original written by Dillon herself, and her heartfelt take on George Jones’ Walk Through This World With Me. Both tracks highlight her signature silky soprano, effortlessly captivating the listener.

Though these songs may not be among her biggest hits, they remain essential pieces of Jamaica’s vibrant musical landscape of the latter half of the ’60s.
