This is a new release in On-U Sound’s collectable ten inch, 45 rpm Disco Plate series, with four varied tracks from label founder and producer extraordinaire, Adrian Sherwood. The first track – which is also the title track – is a foretaste of Adrian’s full-length album, The Collapse Of Everything, due out later in 2025, and is a space-y, moody number with international influences and some deep dub effects. The remaining three tracks are exclusive to this release.
Next up is Let’s Come Together, basically the opening instrumental track reworked with a couple of brief vocal contributions from an instantly recognisable Lee “Scratch” Perry (and no, he’s definitely not singing). Russian Oscillator follows, an upbeat, layered electronic number with a slight tinge of drum ‘n’ bass, and then Cold War Skank closes out this very listenable release with a very dubby slab of almost soundtrack music, with electric guitar (Pink Floyd style!) and drums prominent in the very dense mix.
Maybe I don’t need to state the obvious but On-U fans can certainly buy this with complete confidence!
