RIDDIM RELEASE

Twenty-five years ago, in 2000, Stingray Records unveiled a trio of singles built on a soulful riddim, produced by Carl and Ray McLeod. Among them was Bushman’s Fill My Cup, a spiritually uplifting anthem that lent its name to the riddim and resonated deeply with fans of conscious reggae. Though it gained modest traction, the riddim found a loyal following within lovers rock and roots reggae circles. A decade later, the riddim was reborn as the Real Riddim, featuring fresh cuts and renewed energy. Released in 2010, this refix version once again captured the hearts of reggae enthusiasts, reaffirming its place as a favorite among lovers of spiritually rich and melodically smooth reggae. Now, as part of the Stingray Revival Series, the riddim returns to streaming platforms. Characterized by its gentle bassline, soft keys, and laid-back tempo—ideal for late-night listening or soulful reflection—the Real Rhythm compilation features performances from some of the finest vocalists hailing from Jamaica and the UK.
