Three decades strong and still blazing. This year marks 30 years since Sizzla Kalonji first stepped out with Burning Up in 1995, the start of one of reggae and dancehall’s most powerful journeys.
To celebrate, his team launched the Rise to the Occasion series earlier this year, kicking off with Kalonji Conversations in Miami. Now the movement comes full circle, returning to the roots where it all began.
On Sunday, October 19, 2025, during Heroes Weekend, Kingston’s Sabina Park will host Rise to the Occasion… 30 Years of Sizzla Kalonji, a tribute to a man whose voice, energy, and message have carried the spirit of August Town to every corner of the world.
With over 80 albums to his name, Sizzla remains a symbol of strength, faith, and resistance. His legacy goes far beyond the music; a movement that continues to inspire the next generation to rise and stand firm.
