NEW RELEASE
Italian rub-a-dub collective The Right Stuff, in collaboration with young singer-songwriter Gloria, presents a fresh interpretation of the reggae classic Man Next Door, originally written by John Holt and sung by The Paragons in 1968. This new rendition, crafted in collaboration with rising singer-songwriter Gloria, breathes new life into a track that has long been a cornerstone of the genre. Their version of Man Next Door builds on a rich legacy as the song has previously been interpreted by artists such as Dennis Brown, Horace Andy and Massive Attack. Here the band carves out a distinct sonic identity that reflects an evolution from their previous productions. It blends the haunting depth of the original lyrics with the textured riddims of roots-dub, creating a soundscape that’s both nostalgic and forward-looking. Gloria’s evocative vocals add a layer of vulnerability and strength, offering a glimpse into her own artistic journey as she prepares her debut album of original material.
